Through the BC Ministry of Health’s (MOH) Patients as Partners Initiative, CCMI is able to offer Health Authorities (HAs) and their collaborators a suite of skill development and quality improvement services to embed the skills in health practice systems. Descriptions of the services for 2024-2025 are outlined below.
New to our services in 2024-2025:
- Motivational Interviewing Foundations Conversation Series: This offering supports people who have learned the foundations of MI to connect with their colleagues and discuss how they are applying what they have learned.
- Motivational Interviewing Skill Demonstration Recordings: This offering supports learners to enhance their foundational skills with recorded skill demonstrations, self-reflection exercises, standardized coding, and coaching calls.
- Collaborative Screening: Guidance for Person-Centered Inquiry: This offering introduces learners to a framework for making health screenings more meaningful. It takes your screening process beyond routine data exchange to create the supportive, respectful conversations that are essential to person-centered care.
- Strategies for Wellbeing Workshop: CCMI’s Strategies for Well-being program works with individuals to explore skills and approaches for supporting wellbeing. This offering is now available as an in-person workshop (previously only available as a webinar series)
CCMI supports the MOH’s strategic direction by being grounded in the Spirit of Motivational Interviewing and a commitment to providing quality person- and family-centred self-management support through a stepped approach to health care. As an organization, CCMI is dedicated to teaching skills and redesigning systems to support effective partnerships between caregivers and the people and families they serve in a variety of contexts. CCMI works with organizations to make changes to their care systems to support use of the skills and approaches being taught. For information about our services, please click on the document below.
