About CCMI

CCMI is a not-for-profit organization based out of BC with a mission to foster empowered partnerships, build helping skills and create responsive systems that improve health and well-being. We want to be a catalyst for system change that supports patient self-management (www.centrecmi.ca).

Our mission is to foster empowered partnerships, build helping skills and create responsive systems that improve health and well-being.

Our vision is to be global providers of excellence in communication skills and strategy development within a supported learning environment.

We work in three main ways:

  1. We listen to people (sometimes called engagement) to understand the challenges they face as organizations and teams
  2. We teach people new skills like Motivational interviewing, Brief Action Planning (among others) to help them be better partners with people. See this page for more information on our content areas: CCMI Services
  3. We help people change their workplaces to incorporate new skills and to test if the change is an improvement (sometimes called system redesign and quality improvement).

Clients we have worked with include: British Columbia Ministry of Health, Ontario Regional Health Authorities (Local Health Integration Networks), Indiana State Department of Health, North Central Accountable Health Care in Washington State, British Columbia Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction, Veterans Affair Canada, among others.
