Practice Call Facilitator, Standardized Patient, Subject Matter Expert, Trainer

Jenny Spring is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and has been a trainer with CCMI for 10+ years. She has a BSW, MA in Counselling and is a Registered Clinical Social Worker.

Jenny has worked in Child and Youth Care, Community Health Services, Adult and Seniors Mental Health and Substance programs and Palliative Care, mostly doing outreach to people in their homes. She has also been a formal educator within Island Health for community, acute, and long-term care programs.

Jenny began her journey with Motivational Interviewing through her work in the Adult Mental Health and Substance Use program over 20 years ago, through 4 days of structured learning about MI. It was an amazing experience that aligned with all her personal and professional values and ethics as it was person-centered, strength-based, and deeply respectful of the client’s lived experience and knowledge. It has been her mission ever since to embody MI in her practice and to share MI with any helpers who are looking for inspiration and better ways to help others.

Jenny is an uninvited settler, grateful to live work and play on the unceded territories of the L’Kwungen- speaking Sencoten peoples of the Esquimalt, Songhees and W’Saanich Nations whose relationship with  the land endures. She believes that land acknowledgements are a very small step on the way to  reconciliation and only the beginning of the work.
