Sebastien is a dedicated nurse, manager, and educator specializing in the substance use and addiction field with Vancouver Coastal Health. He has a strong passion for Motivational Interviewing and actively champions the engagement and inclusion of people with lived and living experience in all aspects of care and training.

Originally from France, Sebastien completed his nursing studies there before moving to Canada in 2007. Now based in Vancouver, BC, he provides training in Motivational Interviewing and other person centred topics to healthcare workers and professionals interested in improving the way they support clients and patients in a person-centered way. He is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT). Holding a Master’s degree in Addiction and Public Health, he has developed a specialization in substance use care and is deeply committed to amplifying the voices of individuals with lived and living experience in shaping policy and practice.

Sebastien speaks both French and English.

Sebastien also acknowledges that he is an uninvited guest living and working on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. He is actively working toward reconciliation and reparation with Indigenous communities, recognizing the importance of this journey in his personal and professional life.
