A great resource for our therapists and social workers

At Moving Forward Family Services, we are committed to empowering underserved communities through innovative, accessible counselling and support services. With a core team of 4-5 positions, we’ve created a hybrid model that serves thousands of clients across BC each month.

Our no-fee and sliding scale models make counselling accessible. With 180+ students (on unpaid practicums who come to us to complete their required post-secondary education practice hours and are drawn to our extensive in-house supervision and training) therapists and social workers and 30+ qualified, experienced supervisors, we are shaping the next generation of accessible mental health professionals. Our alumni (200+) offer sliding scale services to anyone who may have needs better supported by more experienced therapists and social workers. We provide intensive supervision and training to our team of therapists, social workers and supervisors to ensure exceptional services for our diverse, under-served communities.

The training offered by CCMI has been appreciated in by our social workers, therapists and clinical supervisors, with skills developed/built upon to engage our diverse communities. We have in particular focused on Motivational Interviewing training, as we receive hundreds of referrals from sources such as MCFD & Corrections, and these intervention works well with such referred clients.
